Status Update
Operation Transom continues in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to tackle this issue. This involves the neighbourhood policing team, roads policing unit, local authority ASB team, and dedicated communications support. The goal is clear, to identify offenders, take enforcement action, and reassure the public through visible and proactive policing. As part of our ongoing work, we have carried out and will continue to arrange targeted days of action. These operations include the use of drones, NPAS (police helicopter), a fixed-wing aircraft, and specially trained officers using off-road bikes. This allows us to safely pursue and apprehend offenders, even in hard-to-reach areas.

Drug Related Issues
Issued: 3 Dec 2025
Status Update
We are continuing to focus on drug-related activity in the Meir area, building on the proactive work already carried out in recent months. Local officers have executed a number of drug warrants at addresses identified through community intelligence, particularly those linked to anti-social behaviour and suspected drug use.
We are actively targeting individuals involved in drug dealing, dismantling local supply networks, and taking robust enforcement action against those responsible.
We will continue to work with partners and the community to identify problem locations, gather information, and ensure that Meir remains a safe place to live and work.

ASB issues for local residents and businesses
Issued: 3 Dec 2025
Status Update
We are also listening closely to the community regarding concerns around anti-social behaviour. High-visibility patrols will continue over the coming months to address issues such as youth-related ASB, harassment within homes, harassment of local businesses and matters linked to homelessness. We encourage residents to speak with officers on patrol and report any concerns directly. Your information helps us identify problem areas and take effective action. We are working closely with partners from the local authority, who are supporting our efforts to reduce ASB and keep the area safe. You will see an increase of drop in sessions for residents, supported by our PCSOs and the local Cllrs.

Anti-social behaviour (ASB) linked to begging and homelessness.
Issued: 2 Sep 2025
Status Update
A number of key individuals have been given custodial sentences for offences committed in the area, which has been a great improvement. Our PCSOs continue to maintain a high-visibility presence in key locations, providing reassurance to the public and acting as a point of contact for any concerns. In recent months, we have seen an increase in rough sleeping, and we are working closely with the local authority and homelessness support charities to ensure that those in need are offered appropriate support and engagement. Our focus is on providing long-term, sustainable outcomes connecting individuals with housing, mental health, and addiction services where necessary. This work will remain a key priority over the coming months as we strive to reduce anti-social behaviour and improve the wider environment for all members of the community.
